3C Test Facility

The new 3C Test Facility at Silverstone Circuit forms part of the new Advanced Technology Park. The building has been designed for 3C Test Ltd, an independent company who are at the forefront of technology within the mortorsport industry. The new build facility will be a telemetry testing centre for motorsport, aviation, information technology, medical and telecommunication equipment, comprising of 1300sqm the accommodation includes office space, industrial use

The building offers a public and a private façade to the site. The private façade provides hard standing for deliveries and secure access to the research and development chambers of the building, whilst the public façade is open and landscaped.

The design provides flexible accommodation and is split into two distinct areas. The central feature atrium space extends two storeys in height with bridge links providing access to the meeting rooms and office space. The remaining space offers open warehouse accommodation and research and development chambers associated with 3C Test. These chambers are significant in size, with the largest chamber extending to 8 metres in overall internal dimensions (width, depth and floor to ceiling). In addition to the specialist accommodation, the facility is served with a double height entrance and reception, providing a focus to the entrance of the building.

The building is clad with a composite insulated metal profile sheet, with the horizontal emphasis of the building reinforced by the glazed window sections running to the west and north elevation. The roof is punctured with rooflights, which flood the central warehouse with natural light. Feature curtain walling is provided to the main entrance and graphics provide visual context to the external elevations.

The staircases are a feature to the external appearance of the building and are enclosed with a mesh structure creating a high tech and state of the art elevation. A mezzanine level is accessed via an elegant steel stair, with brushed stainless steel handrail and tension wire balustrades. Clean, crisp, sharp lines within the office and open plan meeting space contrast with the industrial and robust nature of the warehouse facility, creating an aesthetic that complements the motor sport industr
