Omar joins us after recently completing his Masters in Architecture Part 2 qualification at Arts University Bournemouth. Omar’s nature of research, design development and practical experience has developed during his time at AUB and has consistently been directed towards sensory architecture, designing for well-being and sustainability, aiming to make a valuable contribution to our modern life. The final project for his MA, a rehabilitation centre for invisible injuries of combat stress, led him to investigate the sustainable technology of rammed earth construction.
Omar gained enduring themes for his architecture from his upbringing in Damascus.
A city rich in architectural heritage Damascus is designed for a holistic way of living, integrating nature, work, life and culture in the fabric of its design.
Bird completed his Part 1 RIBA Architecture (BSc) at UWE and shortly after graduating worked in practice on a range of residential and commercial projects within the local area, as well as projects in Scotland. He has interests in science and design, and architecture fell into that place. In his spare time he enjoy's skateboarding, photography, art and graphic design, which I share online.
